Obtainable in a range of styles, patterns and colors, the printed saree is pliable and classy in looks. Printed sarees gives a striking look to anyone who wears it. They are fit for all kinds of occasions.
Printed sarees normally look excellent in Cotton, Silk, Georgette, Chiffon, Crepe, and Handloom types of fabrics. Printed sarees have a lot of appealing patterns like: Floral, Animal, Geometrical, Abstract prints, Ornamental designs, Patola prints, Polka dot print, Kantha prints, Jaal printed Meenakari printing etc.

Some states have developed its own ornamentations for printed saris, based on the folk tradition of the area as well as its textile weaves. Subtle prints on a printed sari, gives it a delicate look.
India has been revoked for its printed and dyed cotton cloth since the 12th century and the artistic processes flourished as the fabric received regal patronage.

Block printing is the oldest technique of calsio printing in which wooden block is used. It is the simplest method of printing fabrics. Rajasthan is the foremost center for block printing. Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Jaipur are some of the main centers for block prints today. Slowly, Gujarat and western Rajasthan are also gaining significance in the block printing industry of India. The bock prints of Rajasthan are Mughal inspired floral prints. The cities like Sanganer close to Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, manufacture much block printed fabric for the fashion trade nowadays.
Printing of dresses and sarees has become popular because the uncomplicated process does craft such sensational prints in rich and energetic colours. Formerly natural dyes were used but today chemical and artificial colours have replaced them. The key colours used are red, the colour of love, yellow the colour of spring, blue and saffron.
The printed fabrics and the simple cotton printed sarees are creating waves around the world. More and more foreigners visiting India want to buy Indian sarees which are block printed. There’s a huge range of fabrics stitched and unstitched available in the industry which are block printed or printed with any of the popular designs. Sarees and primarily cotton printed sarees suitable for the hot summer months of our country are all the rage all around. These prints use vegetable dyes, making them environment friendly as well. All over the world the printed dresses are becoming more and more fashionable day by day.
