Clothes enhance the look and personality in an individual… it creates the first impression and leaves a lasting impression on others. A variety of dresses has been conceived to bring out the beauty, especially in a woman and neck style is what enhances the beauty of the dresses. When we think of Indian women we generally imagine her clad in a saree or salwaar kameez. Salwaar kameez is more prevalent in the northern part of India. It is a very comfortable attire and that is why it has become the most common Indian wear.
Women, both young and old, home makers and professionals prefer salwaar kammezover any other attire because of its comfort and elegance. With change in time salwaar or churidaar kameez, however it may be more popular today, has become more fashionable and trendy. The neck styles in salwar kameez , ranging from a simple V neck, square or round has become classy, elegant and charming.
Necks styles such as collar neck, halter, Nehru collar and sweetheart can be used both invery traditional as well as a contemporary kameez. Lot of foreign designers have used thesekinds of neck styles in gowns and other western outfits. Fabrics such as cotton, silk, crepes, georgettes, satins, chiffons all can be stitched into salwaar / churidaar kameez. The kameez can have different kinds of neck styles and this can be highlighted with thread embroidery,zardosi work, block prints, beadwork, rubber print etc.
Indian salwar kameez looks elegant in contrasts colours. Cool and pastel colours during summers are replaced with bright and bold colours in winters. A bright coloured kameezwith printed, stripped or checked salwaar / churidaar looks eye catching. Matching threadembroidery or block print, around the neck line and the sleeves makes the kameez look verytraditional. Similarly a brocade kameez with high collar and straight, well fitted pants, givesthe attire an indo western look.
