Bombay or rather Mumbai, is to Indian Fashion what Paris is to World Fashion. Mumbai is the trend-setter for Indian fashion-wear, be it traditional clothes or designer elements. The reason being, Mumbai is the seat or headquarter base of Indian Film Industry, popularly known as Bollywood.So when Bollywood stars, especially actresses sport a particular dress, the country goes rampage on that style.Followers of the actresses of all ages from 18 to 80 contribute to making it the “in-thing” in clothing fashion.It becomes famous as the Bollywood Saree.

India exports a large number of fancy sarees to the world. These sarees are worn at all occasion and are available in different colours and designs. The embroidered fancy sarees are highly in fashion.

India is enriched with different variety of sarees. West Bengal is famous for its handloom sarees, otherwise known as Tant sarees. These sarees are made of cotton and are famous for its lightness and transparency. They are equally good both for casual wear and party wear.

The pattern of saree is changing slowly .Saree have now graduated to international fashion emblem or costume and is featured in many International Fashion Shows.They have in course of time acquired the “cool-ness” quotient and provide ample space for the designer to make experiment on it. Gone are the days of the saree being reserved to the wardrobe of the traditional Indian women.  Indian market is famed for its georgette saree. Variety of these sarees have made it usable at anywhere, be it an office or a party. Georgette saree is often made up of nylon and polyester. If draped properly it can add charisma to any lady. Its soft and subtle texture gives comfort. If we talk about sarees, it would be incomplete without Banarasi saree.

These are exclusively for party wear. There is hardly any woman in India who does not have a Banarasi saree. A bridal make up is incomplete without a banarasi saree. It is considered one of the finest sarees in India, with gold and silver work all over its body. Because of these brocade work they are heavier than other sarees. Banarasi sarees are available in a large variety of colours and shades which is rare in other brands. These sarees, because of its gorgeousness is highly demanded all over the world.
